All sessions will be taught by me (Lois Russe). I completed a BA HONS in Dance Theatre Performance where my dissertation focused on dance education in UK primary schools. After Uni in 2010, I set up my own coaching company alongside a cheerleading team called Weston Supernovas. I taught lessons and after school clubs in many various mainstream primary and secondary schools across the county as well as working as an LSA in KS1 and 2.
Supernovas Cheerleading squad ran for 10 years, we had over 500 athletes during that time and took children and young adults to national competitions winning national titles. I have experience coaching children from ages 3+ (levels 1 to 4) and also ran a team inclusive for SEN athletes. I also competed during this time, winning numerous first place titles in the hip hop, pom and jazz dance categories. I was also chosen to represent Team England at the European Cheerleading Championships in 2015.
I have a full DBS check and have completed paediatric first aid so your children are in safe hands!
After taking some time out to have a family, I am so excited to be back teaching again!
KS2 (Years 3, 4, 5, 6) starts Tuesday 21st April 2026. KS1 (Years 1, 2) starts Thursday 23rd April 2026.
Children are welcome to bring clothes to change into before the session - this is not essential though, don't worry! A t-shirt with shorts/leggings/joggers and trainers is ideal.
KS2 children will need to make their own way to the gym after school - teachers will have a list of those attending dance club so they are aware.
I will bring all children down to the office where they can be collected at 4.15pm. Any children who need to go on to after school club will be taken there once all of the other children have been collected.
We will perform a little showcase on the last session of each term to give the children the opportunity to perform and show you all what they have been working on.
